Athletes Unlimited

Give Detroit - A Charitable Registry

Founded in 1996, Athletes Unlimited is dedicated to providing social, recreational, and athletic outlets to people with disabilities. Life is not intended to be a spectator sport.

Everyone, regardless of ability, can benefit from participating in sports. It continues to be Athletes Unlimited’s primary goal to provide these opportunities to as many physically challenged individuals as possible. The organization firmly believes everyone should know that individuals with disabilities, regardless of their physical limitations, possess the same basic needs and desires as those without disabilities. Athletes Unlimited strives to eliminate societal barriers that limit an individual’s potential to achieve. The generous commitment of so many enables Athletes Unlimited to support and sponsor several elite, disabled athletes, and many athletic and recreational programs. Many of its athletes have gone on to become Paralympic Medalists.
