// MISSION

The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute envisions a world free of cancer. Its mission is to lead in transformative cancer care, research, and education through courage, commitment, and compassion.

// KEY SERVICES PROVIDED

Your Best Chance underscores to patients the fact that they’ll receive extraordinary care at Karmanos Cancer Institute, where experts focus solely on cancer and treat more than 200 types of this disease. Karmanos is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in metropolitan Detroit, and one of just 49 in the country. This prestigious designation distinguishes it from others who treat cancer, and it often means patients have better treatment options and the availability of advanced cancer care. The Karmanos Cancer Institute has one of the largest clinical trial programs in the nation, giving patients the newest cancer-fighting drugs years before anyone else. Since joining McLaren Health Care, Karmanos is the largest cancer care and research network across Michigan. It’s headquartered in Detroit and has 15 locations statewide.
