Detroit Institute for Children

Give Detroit - A Charitable Registry

The Detroit Institute for Children provides a passionate, integrated approach to services for Michigan’s children with special needs and their families.

Since 1920, the Detroit Institute for Children has offered comprehensive care and support to children with special needs and their families. We treat one child at a time, with a commitment to the most underserved and at-risk children. We provide services where families live and work, to ease transportation and time-related challenges.

Therapy Evidence-based assessment and treatment services for children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental, behavioral, emotional, and neuromuscular disorders.

Education We provide special education consultation within schools and offer resources and workshops for parents, caregivers, and professionals who are part of the lives of children with special needs.

Programs Our programs include early intervention and specialized programs to address learning and development in children with special needs.
