// MISSION

North Star Reach provides life-changing camp experiences for children with serious health challenges and their families, free of charge.

// KEY SERVICES PROVIDED

North Star Reach is part of the SeriousFun Children’s Network, a global community of medically-supported camps founded by Paul Newman. It offers intentionally designed, adaptive camp programming for children with serious illnesses and their families. Located on 105 wooded acres in Pinckney, the camp features a state-of-the-art health center staffed by nurses, physicians, and specialists recruited from 12 partnering hospitals throughout Michigan and the Chicago area. It is the first camp in the Network dedicated to serving children across the Great Lakes region, and the only camp in the Network started by medical professionals. Programs include summer residential camps, family weekend camps, and hospital-based outreach camps. The primary conditions served are sickle cell disease, solid organ transplants, congenital heart disease, blood disorders, neurooncology, phenylketonuria, and palliative care.
