Nordstrom Opening

Nordstrom celebrated the opening of another Michigan store on April 16 at The Mall at Partridge Creek. The evening benefited the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and Henry Ford Macomb, and included hors d’oeuvres, buffet dining, live music, and shopping.

On April 30, the Cranbrook Academy of Art held STUDIO, an exclusive event in which the academy opens the doors of its private studio spaces. Guest enjoyed a meal and lively discussion with its students about their work and process. The benefit, in combination with an after party and art sale, raised more than $100,000 for scholarship programs.

Shades of Pink: A Walk at the Zoo 2016

On April 30, the Shades of Pink Foundation held its annual Walk at the Zoo fundraising event at the Detroit Zoo. The organization provides temporary financial assistance to breast cancer patients during treatment and recovering, for expenses such as insurance payments, food, transportation, childcare, and other essentials of daily life.

Motor City Wine and Food Festival 2016

On April 29, the Motor City Wine and Food Festival, which aims to combine the best in food, spirits, wine, entertainment, and fashion to benefit adult literacy programs in Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties, was held at the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Township. Guests enjoyed Italian-themed food and drinks, a car show, live music, and more.

Red Tie Ball 2016

On April 9 at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit, the Oakwood Foundation held its annual fundraising gala, the Red Tie Ball, presented by HealthRise Solutions. Guests enjoyed casino gaming tables, cocktails,hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions, dinner, and dancing. Proceeds from the event benefitted the Center for Exceptional Families, which provides a multidisciplinary team to serve children with special needs, and the Beaumont Hospital – Dearborn Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which cares for more than 600 premature babies annually.
