Heart Ball

The American Heart Association's Metropolitan Detroit Heart Ball was held on April 24 at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit. The event honors business and medical professionals who have contributed to a yearlong campaign, raising funds and awareness for cardiovascular disease and stroke research. Real Life 101 Awards Gala 2016

On June 25, national scholarship and mentoring program Real Life 101 held its 17th annual awards gala at the MGM Grand Detroit. The organization assists hundreds of young at risk black men by providing scholarships, mentoring, and educational resources as they graduate from high school and start college, trade school, or another accredited higher education institution. The gala featured heartfelt testimonies from graduates of the program, community service awards, the distribution of laptop computers loaded with software and backpacks, and more.

Medallion Gala 2016

On March 5 at Penna’s of Sterling in Sterling Heights, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital held their annual premiere event, the Medallion. 1,000 guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing, mock gambling and a grand package raffle. The black-tie fundraiser benefitted 
trauma services at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.

20th Annual Circle of Friends Luncheon

On Jan. 28, CARE House of Oakland County held it's annual Circle of Friends benefit luncheon at the Townsend Hotel to raise awareness for the programs and services that CARE House provides to abused children and their families.

Dynasty Fur Auction

On Jan. 18 at Bricker-Tunis Furs in West Bloomfield, a collection of eight elegant furs worn during the 1980s hit TV series Dynasty was auctioned at a reception, with a percentage of sales benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit. Three of the pieces were sold that night with other sales pending. Approximately 40 visitors enjoyed an elegant, fun evening with a dash of Motown – former Motown singer Martha Reeves attended and a D.J. spun tunes from that era of innovative vocals and instrumentation.
