PHOTOGRAPHY BY JOHN SOBCZAK

> WHAT FIRST STARTED out as a “lark” has become a passion for John Sobczak. The result is photographs of nearly two dozen performers from the Detroit Fire Collective. They’ll be the focus of a free show at the Tangent Gallery (tangentgallery.com) at 7 p.m. Sept. 18. Several of the performers are expected to be on hand. Sobczak’s 2009 book, A Motor City Year, (Wayne State University Press, $39.95) captured everyday life in Metro Detroit in 365 images.
