GALILEE’S 6TH YOUTH ENRICHMENT WEEKEND

Get ready to sing, dance, and have fun! The youth ministry will lead worship service on Sunday, July 22 as Galilee Missionary Baptist Church hosts its 6th Annual Youth Enrichment Weekend. The weekend begins with a church picnic and festival, on Friday, July 20 followed by the youth explosion program on Saturday, and ends with Sunday’s church services. The festivities will take place at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, at 5251 East Outer Drive, Detroit 48234. The event is free and open to the community.

The full weekend of youth-affirming activities kicks off with the “Night on the lot” event on Friday at 4 p.m. The outdoor event will coincide with the church’s annual picnic and serve as the official welcoming to the community. There will be food, music and a variety of recreational activities for people of all ages to participate in.

The youth and young adult showcase, known as “Youth Explosion,” will debut on Saturday. The showcase will start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. The show will include acting, dancing, singing, miming, stepping and poetry reading. “We are very excited about our youth enrichment weekend. The members have been working hard all year. They’re ready to perform and share the word of God to all” said Marlena Taylor, chairman and ministry leader of the youth and young adult ministry.

The Youth Enrichment Weekend will end on Sunday with youth-led worship services. Early morning service 8 – 10 a.m. and afternoon service is 11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. The youth and young adult ministry is encouraging everyone who is interested in worshipping with and mentoring to youth to come and participate in this free event.
