Red Tie Ball 2016

On April 9 at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit, the Oakwood Foundation held its annual fundraising gala, the Red Tie Ball, presented by HealthRise Solutions. Guests enjoyed casino gaming tables, cocktails,hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions, dinner, and dancing. Proceeds from the event benefitted the Center for Exceptional Families, which provides a multidisciplinary team to serve children with special needs, and the Beaumont Hospital – Dearborn Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which cares for more than 600 premature babies annually.

Karmanos Annual Dinner 2016

On April 16, the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute held its 34th annual dinner in support of cancer research at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac. Guests enjoyed a strolling cocktail reception, seated dinner, a raffle, a live auction, and live entertainment.

Savor Detroit, Spring 2016: April 29

From April 25-29, Hour Detroit held its biannual event Savor Detroit. For the first time, local top chefs were paired with guest culinary stars from around the country for the ultimate collaboration at Savor Detroit. Guests enjoyed light appetizers and cocktails as well as a multi-course seated dinner. A portion of the proceeds benefited Gleaners Community Food Bank, which serves more than 500 partner agencies around southeast Michigan by providing millions of pounds of food to feed hungry neighbors. Friday's culinary collaboration featured Chef James Rigato from Mabel Gray in Hazel Park and the Root Restaurant and Bar in White Lake, and Chef Mei Lin, winner of Bravo’s Top Chef, Season 12.

Charlotte's Wings Benefit 2016

On April 30 at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Charlotte's Wings, a non-profit organization which donates books to children and their families in hospital and hospice care, held their 9th annual benefit. Guests enjoyed fine dining, live music, and a silent auction.

Butterfly Foundation Open House 2016

On April 28, the St. Clair Butterfly Foundation held their spring open house at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 118 in Sterling Heights, inviting the public to come and learn about the foundation and their mission to empower at-risk youth and unlock their potential through mentorship and skill-development programs based in the creative arts. Guests enjoyed light appetizers and beverages.
