Lightwire Theatre presents The Ugly Duckling and the Tortoise and the Hare, a light and dance show spectacular. Watch as dancers, equipped with tubes of lighting on their body, dance through the dark and light up the  imagination. 4 p.m. Dec. 2. $27.

Eisenhower Dance Ensemble

Karmanos Rooftop Garden Premiere

On May 15, 2015, business and philanthropic community leaders witnessed the newly-opened rooftop garden at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. The garden accompanies the Karmanos Center for Natural Birth, promoting a relaxing environment for mothers. Hosted by Peter and Danialle Karmanos, this year marks the first spring the garden will bloom.

Gilda’s Big Night Out 2015

On May 14 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center, Gilda's Club Metro Detroit raised money to ensure those impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. Guests enjoyed a strolling dinner, auction, raffle and live entertainment.

Pour Les Enfants Luncheon 2015

On May 15 at Oakland Hills Country Club, Christ Child Society of Detroit hosted its Spring Luncheon, "Pour Les Enfants". Guests enjoyed boutique shopping, a raffle, and fashion show. Proceeds went to services provided by the society.

An Evening of Art & Science 2015

Twenty physician researchers teamed with artists to create one-of-a-kind art auctioned at the "Evening of Art + Science" on May 14. Proceeds went to life-saving research of the A. Alfred Taubman Institute. Guests enjoyed music and fine dining in the Detroit institute of Arts' Great Hall, and interact with the scientists and artists who developed the creations.

Greening of Detroit 25th Anniversary Gala

On May 14 at the Rattlesnake Club, Greening of Detroit celebrated 25 years of revitalization in the Detroit community with a gala. Guests enjoyed a five-course dinner party and raised funds for the organization to continue its commitment to building a greener, healthier Detroit.
