Lightwire Theatre presents The Ugly Duckling and the Tortoise and the Hare, a light and dance show spectacular. Watch as dancers, equipped with tubes of lighting on their body, dance through the dark and light up the  imagination. 4 p.m. Dec. 2. $27.

Eisenhower Dance Ensemble

Best of Detroit 2016

On June 24 at MotorCity Casino Hotel, Hour Detroit brought the Best of Detroit issue to life at the 11th annual Best of Detroit Party. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from over 30 restaurants and live entertainment from the Killer Flamingos, percussionist Jared Sykes, DJ John Arnold, and DJ CAPTN20. The evening was hosted by Amy Andrews from Fox 2.

See What Stacey Started 2016

On June 17, the third annual "See What Stacey Started" group art show was hosted at the Phoenix Café in Hazel Park benefiting the Michigan Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The evening featured art from the cafe's Tuesday night figure drawing sessions, live music, and more. The sessions were inspired by Stacey Skiera who passed away at a young age due to complications from MS.

Grand Circus Gala 2016

On June 16, the Detroit Entertainment District Association and Detroit 300 Conservancy hosted the second annual Grand Circus Gala in Grand Circus Park. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeurves, classic lawn games, and live music. Proceeds benefited programs and improvements in the park.

Capuchin Souper Summer Celebration 2016

On June 18, Capuchin Soup Kitchen held their 35th annual Souper Summer Celebration, themed "Totally 80s," at Comerica Park. Guests enjoyed live entertainment, food, drinks, a raffle, and more. All proceeds benefited the organization and their efforts to feed the hungry.
