Savor Detroit, Fall 2018: October 1st

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2018

On Oct. 13, the American Cancer Society held its Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Detroit walk at Hart Plaza in Detroit. Participants included breast cancer survivors and their caregivers, and others hoping to find a cure for the disease. After walking the 5k, attendees enjoyed live music, juice samples from Beyond Juice, and more fun activities. Proceeds benefited the American Cancer Society, raising money for breast cancer research, support, and detection.

Wine and Dine in the D 2018

On Oct. 4, Cure Multiple Myeloma Corp. held its annual Wine & Dine in the D event on the fourth floor of the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in Detroit. Guests enjoyed an evening of delicious gourmet food, a selection of wines, live jazz music, and more. Attendees were also invited to take part in an informative, hour-long discussion about multiple myeloma with medical experts. Proceeds from the eighth annual Wine & Dine event benefited metro Detroit's myeloma community as well as the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in its efforts to find treatment for the disease.

Detroit Uncorked 2018

On Oct. 5, the Detroit Wine Organization and Kroger held its annual Detroit Uncorked event at Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan in Detroit. Attendees enjoyed sampling over 300 wines from Michigan and other countries, eating food from over 20 local restaurants, live entertainment, and more. Proceeds from the 14th annual premier wine tasting benefited Gleaners Community Food Bank.

Zonjic Meets Motown 2018

On Sept. 22, Sanctum House hosted Zonjic Meets Motown, a benefit concert at the Southfield Pavilion in Southfield. Guests enjoyed dinner, dessert, and musical performances by Alexander Zonjic and his band and Serieux - a Motown Temptations Review. Proceeds benefitted the Sanctum House in its mission to help survivors of human trafficking.

British Invasion Summer Cruise 2018

On Sept. 19, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters held its British Invasion Summer Cruise along the Detroit River. Passengers boarded the yacht at Port Detroit Dock in Detroit and enjoyed a cruise inspired by the British boy bands of the sixties. The Beatles' cover band, Magical Mystery Groove performed a variety of the Fab Four's biggest songs. A portion of the proceeds benefited Noble Odyssey Foundation in its Great Lakes research efforts.

Arab American and Chaldean Council Civic and Humanitarian Awards Gala 2018

On Sept. 15, the Arab American and Chaldean Council held its Civic and Humanitarian Awards Gala at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit. Guests of the black-tie optional event enjoyed dinner and a program which honored individuals who are visionaries in their areas of work. Proceeds from the 39th annual gala benefited the ACC's educational and refugee initiatives.

A Moment in Time Gala 2018

On Sept. 14, the Junior League of Detroit's Designers' Show House held its "A Moment in Time" Gala at the Charles T. Fisher Mansion in Detroit. Guests were treated to an estate tour, a live art installation by Artist Felle and Design Core Detroit, a strolling dinner, and more. Proceeds from the celebration benefited various community programs, including Project EAT and other social service organizations.

A Night in Havana Summer Cruise 2018

On Aug. 30, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters held its Night in Havana Summer Cruise along the Detroit River. Guests boarded the yacht at Port Detroit Dock, enjoyed cuisine inspired by Old Havana, and danced to music by Detroit musicians Grupo Escobar. The sold-out cruise was a part of the yacht charter's Summer Cruise Series.

Continents Uncorked Summer Cruise 2018

On July 25, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters held its Continents Uncorked Summer Cruise along the Detroit River, boarding at Port Detroit Dock. Passengers enjoyed a strolling wine dinner that included an expansive wine selection from vineyards across the country and cuisine from North America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. Musical group Intrigue performed at the sold out cruise. A portion of the proceeds benefited local charity, Global Ties Detroit.

Motown Summer Cruise 2018

On Sept. 12, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters held its Motown Summer Cruise along the Detroit River. Passengers boarded the sold-out cruise at the Port Detroit Dock, enjoyed a Michigan-themed dinner, Detroit-inspired cocktails, and live entertainment from Motown band, Persuasion. The Motown Summer Cruise was a part of the Infinity-Ovation Yacht Charter's Summer Cruise Series.

Southwest Solutions Celebration of Impact 2018

On Sept. 14, Southwest Solutions held its inaugural Celebration of Impact gala at MGM Grand Detroit Hotel in Detroit. Guests enjoyed a lively evening featuring a VIP Honoree Reception, a three-course dinner, awards program, and an after party. The event celebrated Southwest Solutions' 47 years of social impact and service to Detroit.

New Orleans Summer Cruise 2018

On Sept. 5, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters hosted a New Orleans-themed Summer Cruise along the Detroit River. Guests boarded the yacht at Port Detroit Dock in Detroit and enjoyed Cajun-Creole cuisine, handcrafted spirits, and live entertainment from The Roubillards. The sold-out cruise was a part the yacht charter's Summer Cruise Series, partnering with various local charities. A portion of the proceeds from The New Orleans Summer Cruise benefited Make Your Date Detroit, a nonprofit focused on reducing the rate of premature birth.

Hour Detroit & Detroit Home's Downtown Living Tour

On Friday, September 7th, Metro-Detroiter Joined Hour Detroit and Detroit Home magazines for the third annual Downtown Living Tour. Eager tour goers enjoyed a private luxury motor coach tour showcasing Cass & York, City Modern, The Stott, Great Lakes Tower at Harbortown, and Vinton.

Uptown Jazz Summer Cruise 2018

On Aug. 7, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters hosted an Uptown Jazz Summer Cruise along the Detroit River. Guests boarded the yacht at Port Detroit Dock and enjoyed a strolling dinner, craft cocktails, and modern jazz performances by the Motor City Horns. The sold-out cruise is a part of the yacht charter's Summer Cruise Series, which partners with various local charities. The Uptown Jazz Cruise partnered with the Coalition on Temporary Shelter (COTS).

Automotive Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 2018

On July 19, the Automotive Hall of Fame held their annual induction ceremony at the MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit. The induction and awards gala ceremony welcomed five new members into the Hall of Fame. Inductees included Mike Jackson, Frank Stronach, Tom & Ray Magliozzi, and Kiichiro Toyoda. Over 650 guests were in attendance.

Christmas in July 2018

OOn July 17 local non-profit Gifts For All God's Children celebrated 30 years at its sixth annual Christmas in July event at Villa Penna in Sterling Heights. WJR host Guy Gordon and guests enjoyed dinner, an auction, and entertainment provided by Rennie and Esther Kaufmann. Santa Claus also made a guest appearance. Proceeds from the event benefited the organization, providing funds for school supplies, summer camps, Christmas gifts, holiday events, and a tutoring program for at-risk children.

Turning Point Benefit Concert 2018

On July 15, Turning Point hosted a benefit concert at the Emerald Theatre in Mount Clemens. Featuring the Femmes of Rock starring Bella Electric Strings performed the music of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Queen, The Beatles, and more. The concert benefited Turning Point, Inc. in its mission to provide programs and resources for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Ovation 60's Beach Party Summer Cruise 2018

On July 11, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters hosted a 60's Beach Party aboard its Ovation Yacht. Guest set sail from the Port Detroit Dock in Detroit and enjoyed barbecue, summer sweets, and entertainment from Caribbean Blue. Proceeds from the summer cruise benefited the Brain Injury Association of Michigan.

Acclaimed Mingle Yacht Party 2018

On June 27, Acclaimed Home Care held its annual Mingle Yacht Gala on the Ovation Yacht. Guests sailed along Lake St. Clair and enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and dancing. Proceeds from the ninth mingle yacht gala benefited local charities and organizations.

On June 29, Hour Detroit brought the Best of Detroit issue to life at the 13th annual Best of Detroit Party at Eastern Market. Guests enjoyed the flavors, sounds, and fashions of Hour Detroit’s Best of Detroit winners, as well as live entertainment from Your Generation, Nuclassica and DJ CAPTN20. The evening was hosted by Evrod Cassimy from WDIV Local 4.

EyesOn Design Brunch 2018

On June 17, EyesOn Design held its annual automotive design exhibition and Private Eyes brunch at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores. The 31st annual exhibit highlighted "Design Inspiration and Influences" and was followed by brunch on the front lawn of the Ford House. Proceeds benefited Henry Ford Health System's Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, which helps support and educate the visually impaired.

Annual Founder's Day and Golf Outing 2018

On June 8, Orchard Lake Schools held its annual Founder's Day and Golf Outing. The day's events began with golf and breakfast at Pine Knob Golf Course in Clarkston. The 66th annual event continued at St. Mary's Preparatory in Orchard Lake with boat rides, live entertainment, and a Sunset Party. Proceeds from the event benefited Orchard Lake Schools.

Detroiter Brunch Summer Cruise 2018

On June 17, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters hosted its Detroiter Brunch Summer Cruise at Port Detroit Dock in Detroit. Guests boarded the Ovation yacht for an afternoon brunch, complete with champagne, mimosas, and more. A portion of the proceeds benefited the Autism Alliance of Michigan.

St. Anne's Mead Breakfast with the Bishop 2018

On June 8, St. Anne's Mead held its second annual Breakfast with the Bishop event at the Detroit Athletic Club in Detroit. The morning event featured Bishop Wendell N. Gibbs of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan as the keynote speaker. Proceeds from the event benefitted St. Anne's Mead in its efforts to provide high quality care in assisted living, nursing care, and memory care.

Summerfest: Reggae on the River 2018

On June 6, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters began its Summer Cruise Series with its Summerfest: Reggae on the River cruise at the Port Detroit Dock in Detroit. The sold out cruise featured a Jamaican-inspired four-course strolling dinner, tropical cocktails, and live entertainment from Caribbean band, Roots Vibration. The Summer Cruise Series partners with the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy to preserve and maintain a beautiful riverfront all year long.

River Blast Infinity Cruise 2018

On June 25, Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters held its annual River Blast Summer Cruise at the Jefferson Beach Marina in St. Clair Shores. Guests boarded The Infinity and enjoyed cocktails, savory and sweet bites, and a DJ while the Detroit Ford Fireworks lit up the night sky.

Capuchin Soup Kitchen Souper Summer 2018

On June 16, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen held its 37th annual Souper Summer event at Comerica Park in Detroit. Attendees enjoyed a performance from the Capuchin Soup Kitchen Choir, a fireworks show, and raffles from Ahee Jewelers. Proceeds from the free event benefited the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Spring Spectacular 2018

On May 10, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland held its annual Spring Spectacular event at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. The event began with a cocktail reception with special guest speaker, Matthew Stafford, and featured a formal dinner, program, and afterglow. Proceeds from the event benefited the Remote Specialist Visiting Providers.

Cinetopia Film Festival Opening Night Party 2018

On May 31, the Michigan Theater Foundation held an opening night party for its annual Cinetopia Film Festival at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. Exclusive to passholders, sponsors, and special guests, the event kickstarted the 10-day film festival with the premiere of Bo Burnham's film, "Eighth Grade." Following the screening, attendees were invited to participate in a post-film Q&A session with Bo Burnham. Cinetopia is a nonprofit organization that strives to bring the best of global film festivals to Southeast Michigan.

Benefactor Bash for Sunset at the Zoo 2018

On May 22, the Detroit Zoological Society held its Benefactor Bash at the home of Karen and Matt Cullen. Guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers. As part of an annual tradition, guests left the event with a stuffed animal and baked goods. This year's plush giveaway was a giraffe and a safari-themed cookie basket. The event raised awareness for the upcoming "Sunset at the Zoo" benefit event.

Pope Francis Center Fundraising Dinner 2018

On May 16, the Pope Francis Center held its 2nd annual fundraising dinner at the MGM Grand Ballroom in Detroit. The event began with Holy Mass celebrated by the evening's guest and honoree, Cardinal Joseph Tobin, CSsR. Attendees enjoyed an evening of cocktails, auctions, and dinner, hosted by WDIV's Chuck Gaidica. Proceeds from the event benefited the Pope Francis Center.

Mission of Mercy Gala 2018

On May 18, the Servants of Jesus of The Divine Mercy held its annual Mission of Mercy Gala at the Divine Mercy Center in Clinton Township. The fifth annual event began with Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Gerard Battersby followed by a dinner and program. Proceeds benefited the Divine Mercy Center.

Cruise In for a Cause 2018

On May 10, the Cutler Group, LLC and Henry Ford's SandCastles held its annual Cruise In for a Cause event at the Aston Martin/Bentley Lamborghini/Maserati of Troy dealership. Guests enjoyed test driving exotic cars, wine tastings, and more. Proceeds from the event benefited Henry Ford SandCastles grief support program, which offers support services to children and families who have lost a loved one.

DYC in the D 2018

On May 4, The Detroit Yacht Club held its sixth annual spring "DYC in the D" fundraising gala at the Detroit Yacht Club's Grand Ballroom in Detroit. The restoration gala featured a gourmet strolling dinner, a premium open bar, and performances by the K.E.G. Band. Proceeds from the event benefited the continued restoration and preservation of the historic site.

A Night of Broadway Stars 2018

On May 10, Covenant House Michigan held its annual Night of Broadway Stars event at Motor City SoundBoard Theater in Detroit. Attendees enjoyed hors d'oeurves, cocktails, and 20 solo and group performances by Broadway and CHM youth stars. Proceeds from the event benefited Covenant House Michigan, a nonprofit that provides food, clothing, shelter, and other resources to at-risk youths.

On May 9th, Hour Media held its Top Dentists party at Eddie Merlot's in West Bloomfield. The private event celebrated this year’s honorees, who are selected after polling area dentists, orthodontists, periodontists and other specialists.

ORT and The City 2018

On May 2, ORT America held its ORT and The City fundraiser at Eastern Market in Detroit. Attendees of the spring fundraiser enjoyed a food truck strolling dinner, an open bar with signature cocktails, and a gift bag with an item from B. May. Guests also auctioned for various prize packages and unique art pieces created by Detroit artists. Proceeds from the event benefited ORT in its mission to provide students from impoverished communities with education and skills to become self-sufficient and well-employed.

JDRF Promise Ball 2018

On May 4, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation held its 33rd annual Promise Ball at MGM Grand in Detroit. For "One Roaring Night," guests enjoyed wine auctions, live entertainment, dinner, and more. This year, the formal event honored Bill and Vivienne Young for their work with Type 1 Diabetes. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefited JDRF in its research to cure diabetes.

Guests also enjoyed unique art installations for the ultimate culinary experience. Friday's meal was prepared by Chef Matt McGrail of Cork and Gabel and Chef Edward Sura of Uchiko. A portion of the proceeds benefited dozens of local charities participating in the Give Detroit Challenge.

MiSci Gala 2018

On May 4, the Michigan Science Center held its annual MiSci Gala at its Detroit location. The formal event welcomed over 600 guests from Detroit-based companies, including Ford, General Motors, Fiat-Chrysler Automotive, and more. NASA Goddard Astrophysicist Researcher, Dr. John Mather was featured as the keynote speaker, enlightening attendees about the latest James Webb Space Telescope. Proceeds from the event helped raise funds to empower and enrich all children and all communities with STEM.

The Power of One 2018

On April 23, Fostering Academics Mentoring Excellence Program hosted The Power of One: Challenging Perceptions and Changing Lives event at Michigan State's College of Law in East Lansing. A collaboration with Chance at Childhood, Art & Soul Dreams, and MSU College of Law, the event featured a panel and MSU alumni who have had experiences with foster care. A keynote address was made by Shenandoah Chefalo, an author, speaker, and advocate for child welfare. Art & Soul Dreams also opened their new art exhibit in celebration of National Foster Care Month.

Cranbrook Academy Studio 2018

On April 28, Cranbrook Academy of Art and Art Museum held its annual charitable studio event on its campus in Bloomfield Hills. The art-filled event invited guests to browse the private studio spaces and interact with students participating in the 2018 Graduate Degree Exhibition. Attendees also enjoyed dinner and an after party. Proceeds from the event benefited Cranbrook's scholarship funds and the museum.

Detroit Zoo Wildlife Conservation Gala 2018

On April 27, the Detroit Zoological Society held its 2nd annual Wildlife Conservation Gala at the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery inside the Detroit Zoo. Over 120 guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and a sit-down dinner. Themed "Standing Up to Extinction," the gala featured a presentation of the zoo's efforts to save species from extinction. The event raised over $69,000 for the DZS's wildlife conservation programs.

Alive 2018

On April 20, the Donate Life Coalition of Michigan held its annual Alive benefit at the Art Moran Buick GMC Showroom in Southfield. Attendees enjoyed strolling hors d'oeuvres, photo booths, a performance by Your Generation, and more. Proceeds of the event benefited DLCM in its efforts to promote and encourage organ, tissue, and eye donation.

Ted Lindsay Wine Tasting 2018

On April 19, The Ted Lindsay Foundation held its annual wine tasting event at San Marino Club in Troy. Guests enjoyed wine poured by celebrity wine pourers, strolling dinner and dessert, and a silent auction. This year's featured winemaker was Sonja Magdevski of Casa Dumetz Wines. All proceeds from the event benefited autism research and educational programs.

Stepping Out With the Stars 2018

On April 20, Turning Point Macomb hosted its annual Stepping Out With the Stars event at Zuccaro Banquets and Catering in Chesterfield Township. Guests voted for their favorite celebrity dancer while enjoying dinner, dancing, and more. Proceeds from the event benefited Turning Point Macomb, an organization serving to end domestic and sexual violence.

Sock Hop Soirée 2018

On April 21, St. Joseph Mercy Livingston held its annual Sock Hop Soirée at the Crystal Gardens Banquet Center in Howell. The 50s themed event featured dinner, dancing, and a cocktail party. Proceeds from the 1950s ball benefitted the enhancement of surgical services at both St. Joe's Livingston and St. Joseph Mercy Brighton Health Centers.

Fair Lane Dinner Dance 2018

On April 13, the Fair Lane Dinner Dance celebrated its 30th anniversary celebration. Started by Edsel and Cynthia Ford, the formal event took place in the Dearborn Inn. Guests were served a gourmet dinner, cocktails, and more. The celebration included an afterglow and raised funds for the restoration of the Fair Lane Estate.

Elegance Fashion Show 2018

On April 7, Elegance Fashion hosted its 40th annual fashion show at the Intramural Sports Building in Ann Arbor. Models made their way down the runway in clothing by local, up-and-coming, and independent designers. In addition to the fashion show, attendees took part in giveaways and enjoyed special performances. Proceeds from the event benefited Living Arts Detroit, a non-profit focused on promoting art education in Southwest Detroit.

Hats Off to New Members Tea 2018

On March 21, the Women's Division for Project HOPE held its annual Hats Off to New Members tea service at the Townsend in Birmingham. The elegant gathering welcomed newcomers with live harp entertainment, mini makeovers by Dior, a fashion show, and more. Proceeds of the event beneftted the worldwide health initiatives of Project HOPE, which has been providing help and solutions to health crises since 1958.

Paws Together 2018

On March 8, Paws with a Cause held its annual fundraising event PAWS Together at the Burton Manor in Livonia. Guests heard stories about how assistance dogs have changed lives and enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and drinks. The hour-long event encouraged guests to donate to Paws with a Cause to help continue its mission of training and providing assistance dogs to those with disabilities.

Diva's Day Out 2018

On March 10, the Rochester Junior Women's Club held its 11th annual Diva's Day Out at the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township. Attendees were treated to a spring fashion show, boutique shopping at over 40 shops, lunch, and a complimentary tote bag full of goodies. Proceeds benefited four organizations: Career Dress, OU Cares, the Professional Law Enforcement Association Foundation, and Sew Much Comfort.

Role Model Dinner 2018

On March 28, Alternatives for Girls held its annual Role Model Dinner at Cobo Center in Detroit. Guests enjoyed live and silent auctions, a plated dinner, and an awards program. The 2018 event honored this year's Role Models, including Alicia Boler Davis, Deborah LaBelle, and Monica L. Martinez. On March 2, Power 88.3 and A Beautiful Me co-hosted its original event, Bloom with A Beautiful Me, at the McMorran Theatre in Port Huron. The self-confidence and self-empowerment event brought over 750 middle and high school girls together to celebrate and discover their self-worth and beauty.

Charlotte's Wings Benefit 2018

On March 24, Charlotte’s Wings celebrated its 11th annual fundraising gala at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester. This year's event included an all-new March Madness Lounge, as well as a cash bar, dinner, live and silent auctions, dancing, and live music from SpaceCat. Proceeds benefited the organization, which donates new books to Michigan children in hospital and hospice care who have serious illnesses and health crises.

Monte Carlo Night 2018

On March 10, the Detroit Boat Club Crew held its second annual Historic Night on the Water at the Belle Isle Boathouse in Detroit. The Monte Carlo-themed event featured cocktails, casino games, and more. Proceeds from the event benefited the restoration of the 1902 Boathouse and other programming.

Empty Bowls Detroit 2018

Canines and Couture 2018

On March 11, Detroit Dog Rescue hosted its annual fundraising event, Canines and Couture, at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. On Feb. 10, Washtenaw Community College held its annual Motor City Mardi Gras event in the Morris Lawrence building of its Ann Arbor campus. Proceeds from WCC's largest fundraiser benefitted the WCC Foundation, providing scholarships and other means of financial assistance for students.

Off to the Races 2018

On Feb. 2, the Berkley Education Foundation held its 9th Annual Off to the Races event at Club Venetian in Madison Heights. The evening included hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, live and silent auctions, simulated horse racing, and more. Proceeds benefited the Berkley School District.

Detroit Yacht Club Officers' Ball 2018

On Jan. 27, the Detroit Yacht Club held its 142nd annual Officers' Ball in Detroit. The ball, which began in 1878, is one of the longest-running formal events in Michigan. Guests enjoyed cocktails, a formal dinner, the traditional Grand March processional, dancing, and more. The ball is the first major event celebrating the DYC's 150th anniversary.

Empowerment Plan Fundraiser and Grand Opening 2018

On Jan. 25, Empowerment Plan held its 5th annual fundraiser at their new facility in Detroit. Attendees enjoyed specialty food and drinks from local restaurants and bars, live music, photo booths, and more. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefitted the nonprofit organization in its efforts to secure homes and jobs for Detroit's homeless community.

AutoGlow 2018

On Jan. 19 at Ford Field, the 2018 AutoGlow was hosted by Lisa and Bill Ford and Kathy and Jim Hackett. The "An Evening in Casablanca" themed event featured delicious food and live entertainment. All net proceeds benefited the Children’s Center of Wayne County, which offers more than 20 programs to over 7,500 children and families annually dealing with issues including abuse, neglect, mental illness and behavioral problems.

NAIAS Charity Preview 2018

On Jan. 19 at Cobo Center, guests enjoyed a first look at the North American International Auto Show at the Charity Preview. The black-tie event benefitted a wide range of children’s charities, such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan. The fundraiser has raised more than $112 million for southeast Michigan children's charities since the gala was established in 1976.

The Gallery at NAIAS 2018

On Jan. 13, The Gallery returned to Cobo Center, officially kicking off the North American International Auto Show. During the 11th annual event, guests enjoyed a strolling dinner and had the opportunity to see a multimillion dollar collection of world-class automobiles, including brands such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Rolls-Royce.

NAIAS Industry Night Private Preview 2018

On Jan. 17, Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit hosted a private preview for Industry Night of the North American International Auto Show. A dinner at the Chef's Table at the Foundation Hotel followed the event. Detroit influencers, including Goodwill automotive partners, were in attendance.

Jumanji Movie Premiere

On Dec. 19, the Jo Elyn Nyman Anchors Programs for Children held two jungle-themed movie premieres for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle at the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor and at the Celebration! North Cinema in Grand Rapids. Attendees enjoyed a VIP reception, a screening of the movie, and a post-premiere hot chocolate street party. The fundraiser benefitted the organization, which is Michigan's only statewide pediatric hospice and advanced illness support program.

St. Joe's Holiday Ball 2017

On Dec. 2, St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor hosted its annual holiday ball at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center in Ypsilanti. Over 900 guests attended the Paradise Ball - A Night in Shangri-La, and enjoyed cocktails, dinner prepared by Forte Belanger, and performances by Intrigue. Proceeds from the black tie event benefitted St. Joe's palliative care program.

On Dec. 8, the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council held its 34th annual ACE Awards in combination with the 40th biennial Chairman's Scholarship Gala. The prestigious business event was held in the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Attendees enjoyed a grand reception, dinner, and dessert. Minority business enterprises and college students were presented awards and scholarships.

Acclaimed Holiday Schmooze 2017

On Dec. 6, Acclaimed Charity hosted its 9th annual Holiday Schmooze at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. Guests enjoyed dinner, silent auctions, dancing, and more. Proceeds benefited the United World Mission's Ugandan Mobile Medical Mission, which provides support for the villages in Uganda.

Cheers Gala 2017

On Dec. 1, Easterseals Michigan hosted its annual Cheers Gala at the Rochester Mills Production Brewery & Tap House in Auburn Hills.
