A jazz club with top guest musicians — Mose Allison, Stanley Jordan, Johnnie Bassett, Thornetta Davis, Wendell Harrison have played here — and top-notch food. Chef Andre Neimanis offers an American bistro menu in this somewhat traditional interior. Round tables are set in white cloths in a room with red fabric on the walls, and trimmed out in clubby dark wood and wainscoting, Tudor carriage lights, and dog-themed paintings and sculptures. Try the two small lobster tails tempura in a Creole mustard. Or the crab “fritter” — it’s really a small crab cake. And there’s a to-die-for Kobe beef burger with seared foie gras and sautéed morels.
