Named for the traditional cooking pot, this small, attractive spot run by two longtime friends from New Delhi offers a menu from the northern Indian perspective, with some emphasis on tandoori dishes, from chicken marinated in yogurt, ginger, garlic, and lemon, (one of a number of treatments of chicken) to a mixed grill assortment of meat and fish kebobs and the flaky hot bread called naan. Acceptance of Indian food has been slow here, but that has changed in the last few years, thanks to the arrival of restaurants such as this that have taken some of the mystery out of the often-misunderstood fare.
