The restaurante is patterned after the informal taverns in Japan where people stop for a snack and perhaps sake or beer. Some of the dishes could be described as small plates or more correctly, small bowls - of such dishes as seaweed in vinegar; fish cakes with wasabi; cold tofu; and mushrooms and grated daikon. There's an extensive menu of rice, noodle and grilled or fried dishes as well. The open kitchen is bordered by a counter that resembles a sushi bar, but while sashimi is on the menu, sushi is not.
