An elegant white-linen see-and-be-seen place near the Renaissance Center that doubles as power-lunch spot at noon and in evening becomes a fine-dining stop for those headed downtown to the theater, opera, or symphony. Its 150-seat dining room oozes luxury and is dotted with plush, large banquettes in a rich gold-and-brown upholstery and surrounded by wood-trimmed glass and mirror dividers etched in floral patterns and pastoral and vineyard scenes. Worth trying from chef Tim Giznsky’s continental-American menu are starters such as a rich shrimp Helene with béarnaise sauce; snails in phyllo served with a beurre blanc; a vibrant, fresh and sweet Alaskan king crab salad with fried green tomatoes; and duck confit beignets.
