The restaurant at the Townsend Hotel is an oasis of civility in a handsomely furnished setting that resembles the style of an English country manor. The plush ambience, however, does not mean that the menu is restricted to dishes from bygone days. While there are certainly classics, including the perennially popular boned-at-the-table Dover sole, diners also may choose from an array of hefty steaks, as well as a lighter menu of such dishes as tuna tartare, lobster pierogi, Caesar salad, and Angus sirloin burger.
