One of the many Zingerman's ventures, this classic American eatery made its goal the celebration of good American food from all corners of the country. And they do it with the best ingredients and the most traditional recipes they can find. Founding chef Alex Young also has begun growing his own vegetables and raising chickens. Whether it's Maryland crab cakes, or New Orleans-style shrimp cooked in pilsner beer, lemon, and Worcestershire sauce, or their famous corn dogs, Zingerman's offers a vast range of old-fashioned eating. But many agree the best may just be the buttermilk fried chicken and the macaroni and cheese, even if they are a little pricey. L&D Daily.
