This year, the Christ Child Society of Detroit’s annual Christmas HomeTour will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 2. The event will consist of a luncheon and boutique fair at the Birmingham Country Club, which will open at 11a.m. The luncheon will feature an expanded marketplace of 20 new and returning vendors, a $500 Somerset Collection shopping card raffle and a gourmet take-home dinner tasting and sale by chef extraordinaire Lauren Quarton. The five homes featured on this year’s tour are all in Birmingham
and Bloomfield, and include a penthouse condominium in downtown Birmingham. Each will be decorated for the Christmas season by local designers. The Christ Child Society of Detroit has more than 450 members who will help celebrate the Society’s 100th anniversary next year.
The organization’s important projects include the Christ Child House, a residential treatment center for abused and neglected boys. CCS members also make and distribute more than 2,000 layettes each year to newborns of disadvantaged families, and run a literacyprogram in the Pontiac school system. Tickets are $40 in advance and $55 at the door. To purchase tickets for the Christmas
home tour, please contact Deb Crawford at 248-891-8450 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, go to www.ccsdetroit.org.
