WINE-BEER TASTING EVENT TO BENEFIT TRANSPLANT PATIENTS AND DONOR FAMILIES

Second Chance at Life and the Michigan Donor Family Council are partnering to celebrate organ and tissue donation. Join the efforts to raise money for transplant patients and donor families on March 1 at a wine-beer tasting and auction at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth. Both nonprofits work to increase organ donation awareness and encourage people to consider becoming donors. The organization provides financial support to transplant patients in Michigan who cannot otherwise afford prescriptions, medical bills and other necessities during and/or after a transplant. They provide college scholarships for donor family members and support donor families through their losses and keep alive the memories of those who gave the greatest gift — the gift of life. Last year in Michigan, 779 lives were saved by 261 donors and 2,061 eye donors provided a second chance for sight through corneal transplantation to 2,262 people.
