ArtWorks Detroit, presented by The Ford Motor Company Fund, is celebrating its 22nd anniversary of raising funds to support the most vulnerable children and families within Detroit and fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic. A live and silent art auction will be held from 7-11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the College for Creative Studies’ A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education at 460 W. Baltimore in Detroit. One hundred and fifty pieces of varied types of art donated by prominent area artists will be showcased, plus an exclusive piece from Yoko Ono titled Mended Cups and Broken Cup. Delicious heavy hors d'oeuvres will be provided with premier custom cakes donated by Kalmar Kakes. Wine, beer, and cocktails will be available for purchase. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at matrixhumanservices.org/artworks/. Valet parking available.
