Join your friends in downtown Rochester for the 11th annual Fire & Ice Festival. This free celebration of winter, set for Jan. 19-21, 2018, is among the premier winter events in Michigan. Activities include dog sled rides, a tube sledding hill, ice skating, a figure-skating exhibition, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice carvings, marshmallow roasting, and a taste fest/beer tent. Face painting is available, and returning this year is a collegiate ice carving competition. The Big, Bright Light Show will illuminate downtown each night in a glorious rainbow of colors. A spectacular firework display lights up the night skies Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and the fifth annual Brooksie Way “Chill at the Mills” 5k race happens Sunday morning. The Oakland County Pet Adoption Center will be offering dogs for adoption during the festival. Fire & Ice is presented by Oakland County Credit Union and sponsored by Oakland County Parks, Oakland County, and Downtown Rochester.
