Michigan Philharmonic presents “Phil-Palooza” 7:30 p.m. April 1 at the Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex. Phil-Palooza is a celebration of great classical music from many genres that features several musical guests. Randy Bhirdo, WJR’s own radio personality, will narrate Prokofiev’s musical journey through literature, “Peter and the Wolf.” Written in 1936, this is a forever favorite among children and adults alike. San Antonio composer Alice Gomez will perform the world premiere of her piece, “112 Degrees,” and the Michigan Phil will be joined by members of the Plymouth Community Band — all 85 of them — for a rip-roaring good time performing favorites from Shostakovich to the ever-popular John Williams and the music of Star Wars! Phil-Palooza is a big musical party the whole family can enjoy. For tickets and information, call 734-451-2112 or visit michiganphil.org
