The 46th annual SOCK (Support Our Capuchin Kitchen) Dinner will take place from 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Cobo Center’s Grand Riverview Ballroom, with an afterglow following.
The afterglow includes dancing, music, and more from 9-11 p.m. The vital ministry of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen depends primarily on donations; SOCK is the soup kitchen’s largest
annual fundraiser. This year’s dinner will be chaired and hosted by Dave and Peggy Meador; Dave is vice chairman and chief administrative officer of DTE Energy. The evening includes hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, dinner, entertainment, and a silent auction with an array of items. Tickets for the SOCK Dinner are available at $275 per person and can be purchased by calling 313-939-2001 or ordering online at CSKDetroit.org/sock. Founded in 1929, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen attends to the basic needs of Detroiters, especially the need for food. Soup Kitchen ministries also strive to
stimulate minds, nourish spirits, and address the root causes of social injustice.
