A raffle and book drive to benefit Reading is Fundamental will be held for the month of March, with a free reception 2-6 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Art Leaders Gallery in Bloomfield Township. All monthlong, in honor of National Reading Month, the gallery is hosting an exhibition to honor the man who taught us all how to read: Theodore Seuss Geisel, known more popularly as “Dr. Seuss.” One custom-framed Dr. Seuss piece will be raffled off March 31 with all proceeds benefitting RIF. The exhibit offers a rare glimpse into the artistic life of Dr. Seuss, including pieces from his Secret Art Collection, Unorthodox Taxidermy Sculpture Collection, and political and economic commentaries from his celebrated Illustrations Collection. Join us with the Art of Dr. Seuss in an effort to promote literacy in America — starting with our children. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Art Leaders Gallery at firstname.lastname@example.org or 248-539-0262.
