From 6 p.m. to midnight on Dec. 8, join the
Detroit Historical Society for a free-wheeling,
black-tie extravaganza that will draw upon
Detroit’s rich and relatively unknown cycling
history to celebrate a landmark year in which
the DHS won all three of the nation’s most
prestigious awards for museums. The Society
Ball is the single biggest source of annual
funding for the society’s educational initiatives, and this year’s celebration will fund expansion of its award-winning programming to serve high school students, help design new curriculum materials, and develop intergenerational
programming for the Discovery Room in The Streets of Old Detroit. Exclusive VIP access for benefactors begins at 5 p.m., seated dinner and live auction (black tie) begins at 6 p.m., and the late-night party (cocktail attire) takes place at 9 p.m. For information on tickets or sponsorships, please contact Mary Ann Bauman at email@example.com or 313-833-4143 or visit detroithistorical.
