Senior Dream Cruise 2016

On Aug. 17, Jewish Senior Life held its annual Dream Cruise event on its Eugene & Marcia Applebaum Campus in West Bloomfield. Residents enjoyed some 80 classic cars that paraded between residences. Volunteers wore vintage attire like poodle skirts and played music from the 1950s.

Dolly Drive 2016

On Aug. 17, Vista Maria held its annual Dolly Drive at the BlackFinn Ameripub in Royal Oak. Guests were asked to bring a new doll or stuffed animal and enjoyed signature drinks and appetizers. The event raised funds and support for girls in foster care.

Art in the Garden 2016

On Aug. 13, painter Yiannis held a special exhibition of his artwork in Novi with special guest and HGTV star Hilary Farr. Guests enjoyed strolling appetizers, a live auction, and sparkling wine. Proceeds from the event benefited Planet Lori Art Camp, a program through the Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation designed for children who had or have a parent or a close relative with cancer.

Rub-a-Dub 2016

On Aug. 17, ORT Michigan held its largest fundraiser of the year, Rub-a-Dub, at the Franklin Hills Country Club. Guests enjoyed dinner, a live auction, a raffle, and more. Proceeds benefited ORT, which has worked with millions of students, equipping them with a high caliber education and the technological training needed to become productive members of their communities and the world.
