HOT SPOT: TORINO ESPRESSO BAR //

The sleek loft building just a block east of Woodward in downtown Ferndale is anchored by this chic space that’s more than what its name implies. Yes, it’s a coffee bar, with Illy espresso and an organic Guatemalan blend for French press and cappuccino, but it also has a premium bar, an appealing wine list, and a compatible menu of dishes that may be shared — from bruschetta, charcuterie, and cheese platters to panini and salads. No wonder people are finding their way east of Woodward.

201 E. Nine Mile Rd., Ferndale; 248-247-1370, torinoespressobar.com B, L D daily.
