HOT SPOT: KOUZINA GREEK STREET FOOD //

It didn’t take long for downtown Royal Oak to welcome this new enterprise in a renovated space, formerly occupied by Zumba Mexican Grille. An array of gyros, kalamata olive-dotted Greek salads, avgolemono (chicken-lemon-rice soup), and spinach pies, among other classic Greek dishes, are the focus in the casual setting where diners watch their selections being put together and then tote them to tables in the good-looking room where there are just 24 seats. Longtime Greektown chef Panagiotis (Pete) Laskaris works behind the scenes preparing the fare.
