Protect and perfect your skin with beauty’s latest buzz-worthy creams

HD: What are BB and CC creams, and what are the differences between them?

SB: BB and CC creams are similar in a lot of ways, but target different skin concerns. Both of these products are multitasking as they act as a primer, foundation, anti-aging moisturizer, and SPF all in one. The main differences between the two are that BBs treat skin’s appearance with high levels of active skincare ingredients, while CCs color-correct and even skin’s tone with targeted formulas.

HD: What’s the best way to wear them?

SB: Since both of these products feature a creamy formula, it’s best to pat and blend them onto the skin as opposed to rubbing it on. Building up coverage is key — start with a small amount and add bit-by-bit if more coverage is needed. Consider your BB or CC creams as your classic makeup base, but supercharged. They cover many different skin concerns with effective skincare ingredients and color formulations to give you a smooth complexion while also nourishing your skin. I like to apply the BB or CC cream before applying any other makeup, such as bronzer or blush, and use it in lieu of foundation.
