Hot Spot: Elwood Bar & Grill

2282

With the boys of summer playing within just a couple of base paths of this 1936 hangout, it’s prime time again for the spot that was moved from its original location into the shadow of Comerica Park. The casual menu of burgers, sandwiches, and salads —coney dogs, too — is ballpark appropriate. There’s a lot of history here. First located at the corner of Elizabeth and Woodward, this Art Deco gem was moved in 1997 to its present location.

300 Adams (at Brush Street), Detroit; 313-962-2337, elwoodbarandgrill.com. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Mon.-Tue., 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Wed.-Sat. Closed Sun. (unless there’s a game). $12 H — Molly Abraham
