Heidi Lichtenstein’s vintage clothing and accessories shop, Cinderella’s Attic, was part of the Royal Oak revival of the late ’80s and ’90s. The shop moved to Birmingham in 2007 and became a national destination when Lichtenstein began selling her oddball finds on eBay. Melissa Jasper was one of the people who bought numerous vintage items to display in her Cambridge, Mass., and Portsmouth, N.H.  restaurants, The Friendly Toast. Jasper phoned Lichtenstein in 2011 and told her she and her husband wanted to open a restaurant in Detroit. When Jasper visited, Lichtenstein helped her scout for locations. The result: The Zenith opened this spring in the long-vacated space in the Fisher Building lobby, done up in — what else? — Cinderella’s Attic-style artifacts. The funky décor in the midst of the elegant Art Deco building — everything from paint-by-numbers paintings to an authentic tiki bar — will no doubt come as a bit of a shock to purists …

Michael Symon’s B Spot and its gourmet burgers has made its first foray into Michigan. The slick shop is in the Village of Rochester Hills at 176 N. Adams Rd., and may be followed by a second location in Ann Arbor. Symon is still scouting for a third Michigan spot for B Spot, where some 15 permutations of the burger are available, along with craft beers and milkshakes …

The Southfield Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina has joined its Royal Oak sibling in serving brunch. And Luciano Del Signore’s concept will be found in 2015 in yet another location, the McNamara Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport, when the airport’s new food court debuts.
