As a team physician for the Detroit Lions and previously the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings, Dr. David Collon has more than 25 years of experience treating hundreds of professional athletes. Dr. Collon's practice has also included the treatment of numerous high school and college athletes.

In his role as chairman of orthopaedic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit from 1996 to 2004, he was also extensively involved with the training of orthopaedic residents, and has participated in NIH-funded research involving the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament.

Dr. Collon, whose primary focus is on shoulders and knees, is the person to see if you need help recovering from an acute injury or treating a chronic condition that interferes with your quality of life. He performs arthroscopic procedures so that people can "get back to their former self," as he puts it. Restoring his patients to their desired level of activity is probably the most gratifying thing he does.
