Essential Information

For the healthy and attractive smile patients
want, and the quality and excellence patients expect,
Joseph R. Nemeth DDS & Associates in Southfield
sets a high standard of care.

The skill and experience of Dr. Nemeth and
Dr. Amar Katranji, together with the leading-edge
technology they use to diagnose and treat cosmetic
concerns, periodontal disease, and missing teeth,
have earned them the trust and gratitude of patients
throughout southeast Michigan.

Dr. Nemeth is one of the first dentists in the
area to add an i-CAT® Cone Beam 3-D Imaging
Scanner to his office. Providing three-dimensional
as opposed to conventional two-dimensional images,
the i-CAT shows precise anatomical information
that’s particularly valuable in implant planning and
placement. “It’s an amazing piece of equipment,”
says Dr. Nemeth, “because we can have a patient sit
down and be scanned within seconds. Then we can
show them their scan immediately, even adjusting
for a variety of views, and issues can be as clear to
them as they are to us.”

“With the help of this high-tech equipment,
patients experience the benefit not only of precise
diagnostics but also of the ability to have procedures
completely visualized, planned, and performed less
invasively,” Dr. Katranji adds.

Earlier in his practice, Dr. Nemeth was one of
the first periodontists in the country to obtain a
dental laser for use on gum tissue. Today he has five
types of lasers for a wide spectrum of procedures.
Allowing for less discomfort and shorter healing
time than other surgical techniques, lasers are
especially suited to some periodontal plastic
surgeries — like recontouring the gumline to
correct a "gummy" smile.

Drs. Nemeth and Katranji are committed
to working together with general or restorative
dentists and with patients to achieve the best
possible treatment outcome. To enhance the fit,
function, and aesthetics of a new crown, they can
perform a crown-lengthening procedure in which
more of a natural tooth’s surface is exposed in
order to ensure the crown’s success. Especially in
circumstances where a crown or bridge is to be
anchored by an implant rather than a natural tooth,
they welcome their role in creating a viable and
pleasing alternative to a missing natural tooth.

Together with Drs. Nemeth and Katranji,
their entire staff is dedicated to helping patients
to preserve their teeth and their smiles through
individualized treatment and personalized care.
Patient comfort and satisfaction are always of
primary importance.
