Wilson, Felicia D., D.D.S., M.S.Categories:
Essential Information
3031 West Grand Boulevard, Suite 360
Detroit, MI 313-874-0755 Felicia D. Wilson, D.D.S., M.S., is both a consummate professional and a trail-blazing pioneer. A specialist in prosthodontics, the practice of restorative and replacement dentistry with an emphasis on implants and esthetic restorations, she was the fourth black female to be board-certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics. A graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, she completed a general practice residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit (now Sinai-Grace) and subsequently joined the staff there prior to opening her solo practice. She also holds a Master of Science degree and earned a certificate in prosthodontics from the University of Michigan, and she has served as an adjunct professor at UD-M. "I always loved beautiful teeth and beautiful smiles," she says. One of the most exciting advances in prosthodontics is a technique Dr. Wilson excels in called "All-On-4"™ dental implants. The procedure involves strategically placing four implants in the jaw in such a way that bone-grafting is not necessary, which minimizes pain and recovery from multiple surgeries. Custom-fit bridges or entire dental arches are then attached to the implants. Patients walk out of her office with an entire new set of teeth in one day, and can eat and drink normally almost immediately. "I love that we can restore form and function in one appointment. Patients are surprised and pleased with the outcome." Dr. Wilson also specializes in Cerec, a digitized ceramic technique that allows her to create beautifully crafted porcelain restorations and veneers while the patient waits. Along with her professional accomplishments, Dr. Wilson takes pride in her personal achievements. She has two children — a daughter who recently graduated from Spelman College and is headed to Brown University this fall for graduate school, and a son who is at Detroit Country Day School Middle School. A Detroit native, Dr. Wilson has stayed loyal to her roots, opening her practice in the bustling New Center area at New Center One. "I'm practicing about two miles from where I grew up," she says. "I didn’t move away, I didn’t go anywhere — I made a conscious decision to keep my practice within the city of Detroit." Additional InformationWeb Address: http://www.drfeliciawilson.com |
