Enough SAID Campaign and Michigan Women's Foundation Fundraiser 2015

On Sept. 29 in Bloomfield Hills, Enough SAID (Sexual Assaults In Detroit) campaign held a fundraiser. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and Michigan Women's Foundation executive Peg Tallet spoke at the event. The campaign is currently raising funds to prosecute backlogged rape cases after 11,000 untested rape kits were discovered in a Detroit Police Department storage locker in 2009. All proceeds benefited the Enough SAID campaign.

DSO Volunteer Council's Red Carpet Dinner at Max Fisher Music Center 2015

On Oct. 3, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra presented a red carpet dinner to mark the beginning of the 2015-16 orchestra season. Patrons were treated to a cocktail reception and dinner in the Music Box at the Fisher Music Theater in Detroit. Following the dinner was the season's inaugural concert. Proceeds benefited the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

Detroit Performs Live! at the Fillmore 2015

On Sept. 18, Detroit Performs staged a concert to highlight Detroit's music legacy and emerging talent. The night included performances by Detroit soul legend Bettye LaVette and up-and-comer Jessica Hernandez. Funding for Detroit Performs is provided by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and ArtWorks.

Karmanos Cancer Institute's 22nd Annual Partners Night

On Oct. 1, the Karmanos Cancer Institute celebrated its 22nd annual Partners Night celebration. The event, held in the Russell Industrial Center, featured a Detroit-themed fashion show and a mural painted by Antonia Shades Agee, a renown Detroit graffiti artist. Proceeds from the event benefited research at the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
