One-Eyed Betty’s

Picnic-style tables and blackboards lettered with the names of the gazillion brew choices add a convivial beer-hall sensibility to this popular Ferndale spot. Betty’s menu goes beyond the expected to deliver a winning list of New Orleans-themed dishes — from po’boy sandwiches and gumbo to fried seafood platters and Cajun chicken and sausage — and, of course, a mouthwatering bacon burger. It’s a hit even with those who don’t appreciate the drink of choice. Don’t worry; there are plenty of other beverages, typified by Betty’s 17 bourbons and 23 Scotches. There’s also a terrific Sunday brunch and house-made donuts.
