Hot Spot // Bourbon Steak
The Michael Mina restaurant has quickly established itself as one of metro Detroit’s premier steakhouses with its dry-aged Piedmontese beef, from the dainty filet to the robust porterhouse, and its American Kobe beef from Masami Farms. Creative side dishes, such as truffled mac and cheese, herbed duck-fat fries, and tomato-dusted red onion rings, and the luxurious setting in the new, more casual steakhouse style (wood, brick, and glass) add to the appeal. All of the accompaniments, from butter-poached lobster tail to tuna sashimi and classic beef tartare, and the quality of the professional service, live up to the Mina reputation.1777 Third St. (inside MGM Grand Detroit), Detroit; 313-465-1644. $46
