Bin 151: The creative fusion menu, the pared-down and sophisticated atmosphere, professional service, and interesting wine list give this Windsor spot an edge. Chef/proprietor Marty Atkins’ menu changes twice a year, in April and September, and it is typified by wok-seared mussels with spicy black beans; barbecued pork-and-mushroom-filled spring rolls with Thai chili sauce; wok-seared beef tips; wild mushrooms and red onions with hoisin sauce; and garlic shrimp with pesto linguine — all handsomely presented. 1515 Ottawa St., Windsor, Ontario; 519-977-0112. L & D Tue.-Fri., D Sat. $20

Edamame Sushi Nu-Asian Kitchen: Sushi lovers know the names Eddie Bautista and Noel Cabrera from their years with the Little Tree Sushi Bar and Katana in Royal Oak, and now the colleagues have their own small, personal restaurant in a nicely refurbished space in a Madison Heights strip mall. In addition to sushi, they offer noodle and rice dishes in a soothing caramel-and-brown setting with room for just 47. They give a twist to the experience by offering create-your-own sushi. Patrons may choose from two to five ingredients, from which the chef makes a customized roll. 31632 John R, Madison Heights; 248-597-4500. L & D daily. $9
