Quattro Cucina Italiano

Birmingham’s newest destination restaurant — in the stunningly reworked space that formerly housed City Cellar — is a striking contrast to its predecessor with its expanses of glass, light colors, and decorative elements recalling ancient Rome. The menu of sophisticated Italian dishes in the hands of executive chef Benjamin Meyer and chef de cuisine Joseph Cosenzo (both recruited from the Michael Mina restaurants at the MGM Detroit Grand) is backed up by an extensive wine list and a professional service staff dressed in white stewards’ jackets. 203 Hamilton Row, Birmingham; 248-593-6060. $23
