Empowerment Plan Fundraiser and Grand Opening 2018

On Jan. 25, Empowerment Plan held its 5th annual fundraiser at their new facility in Detroit. Attendees enjoyed specialty food and drinks from local restaurants and bars, live music, photo booths, and more. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefitted the nonprofit organization in its efforts to secure homes and jobs for Detroit's homeless community.

Lobsterfest for Charity 2018

On Aug. 4, the Michigan Hope Foundation held its 19th annual Lobsterfest at Northville home. Attendees of the charity event enjoyed fresh lobster flown in from Maine, silent auctions, live music, and more. Proceeds from the event benefited the Donate Life Coalition of Michigan, The Gary Sinise Foundation, and breast cancer research.

Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party 2018

On June 25, Ford Motor Company held its annual Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party atop the Center Garage near the Renaissance Center in Detroit. Over 2,000 people attended the party, enjoying a buffet dinner, dancing, and an amazing view of the fireworks show. The annual event serves as The Parade Co.'s biggest fundraisers of the year.

Ride Richmond Bike Tour Fundraiser 2018

On July 29, McLaren Macomb held its Ride Richmond charity event along the Macomb Orchard Trail near Richmond. Participants enjoyed a hot breakfast prior to taking a ride on the 15-mile, 24-mile, or 40-mile routes. Proceeds from the 2nd annual bike tour fundraiser benefited A Beautiful Me, a charity that encourages young girls to build and discover self-worth.

Christmas in July 2018

OOn July 17 local non-profit Gifts For All God's Children celebrated 30 years at its sixth annual Christmas in July event at Villa Penna in Sterling Heights. WJR host Guy Gordon and guests enjoyed dinner, an auction, and entertainment provided by Rennie and Esther Kaufmann. Santa Claus also made a guest appearance. Proceeds from the event benefited the organization, providing funds for school supplies, summer camps, Christmas gifts, holiday events, and a tutoring program for at-risk children.

Automotive Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 2018

On July 19, the Automotive Hall of Fame held their annual induction ceremony at the MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit. The induction and awards gala ceremony welcomed five new members into the Hall of Fame. Inductees included Mike Jackson, Frank Stronach, Tom & Ray Magliozzi, and Kiichiro Toyoda. Over 650 guests were in attendance.
