"If I Must" Opening Reception

On June 25, the Robert Kid Gallery hosted an opening reception for photographer Boswell Hardwick's latest collection, "If I Must." The exhibit highlights Hardwick's life in a modern and gritty Paris on paper, metal, and canvas. A portion of the proceeds benefited Wayne State University’s Horizons Project, the only HIV/AIDS program in Michigan that specifically focuses on providing services to HIV positive and at-risk youth ages 13 to 24.

Ford Fireworks 2016

On June 27, the Parade Company hosted the 58th annual Ford Fireworks along the Detroit River and a Rooftop Party presented by Ford Motor Company. The party, one of the Parade Company's most important fundraisers of the year, featured food from Andiamo, drinks, interactive games for kids, and live entertainment from Your Generation in Concert.

A Legacy of Love: Vow Renewal and Garden Party

On June 25, the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores celebrated the 100th wedding anniversary of Edsel and Eleanor Ford with a vow renewal and garden party at the historic Ford Family Estate. Guests enjoyed a strolling dinner, beer, wine and dessert, followed by ceremony officiated by Macomb County Executive Mark A. Hackel.

Salute America 2016

On June 24, Beaumont and Conway MacKenzie presented the annual Salute America event for the for Lighthouse of Oakland County at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills. The event celebrated the great American concept of philanthropy and honored those who have championed help for vulnerable people in need. Guests enjoyed a silent auction, live entertainment, dancing, dining, and drinks. Proceeds benefited the organization and its self-sufficiency programs.

Best of Detroit 2016 P. 2

On June 24 at MotorCity Casino Hotel, Hour Detroit brought the Best of Detroit issue to life at the 11th annual Best of Detroit Party. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from over 30 restaurants and live entertainment from the Killer Flamingos, percussionist Jared Sykes, DJ John Arnold, and DJ CAPTN20. The evening was hosted by Amy Andrews from Fox 2, and celebrated Hour's 20th year in publication.
