Dr. Mariam Awada is thrilled to introduce Axis Three Portrait 3D to her Michigan Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery practice. Portrait 3D is a breakthrough computerized technology that allows Dr. Awada to show her patients what they’ll look like after breast augmentation surgery.

The only female on the Axis Three Portrait 3D Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Awada is proud to be one of the first board-certified plastic surgeons utilizing this exciting new technology.

Imagine being able to see your “after” image before surgery. The Portrait 3D system platform photographs a patient’s body before her breast procedure, captures linear and volumetric measurements, and creates an exact three-dimensional replica of her body on screen. The photographic quality images can then be viewed from all angles, and implant sizes can be adjusted to suit the patient’s desires.

With Dr. Awada’s local and national reputation for delivering spectacular results, it’s no surprise that she has embraced this new technology. She remains at the forefront of her field and has been featured nationally on CNN, MSNBC, and FOX, and locally on Fox 2 and Local 4 news to discuss her surgical techniques — including breast enhancement and total body contouring.

Dr. Awada has published several articles in distinguished medical journals, and is a contributing author to a national plastic surgery magazine. She also serves as a clinical instructor of plastic surgery, and trains young surgeons in the skills and techniques she has honed to perfection.

For Dr. Awada, Portrait 3D is another powerful tool for planning surgery. It allows consultations to be more interactive, and gives patients a chance to look at all the options before deciding on what the right size, shape, and contour is for them.

Pre-surgical anxiety about breast size is reduced or nearly eliminated by the Portrait 3D technology. Patients can see their own body on screen, and know exactly what will be accomplished under Dr. Awada’s skillful care.

If necessary, different-sized implants can be used to modify each breast, in order to achieve a more full, balanced and symmetrical contour. The predicted results of surgery can be viewed from all angles — not just from the front, like other simulation programs.

“By visualizing the results with different implant sizes in advance, women can feel more relaxed and confident about their surgery.” Dr. Awada says.  “My patients and I have great communication and rapport.  Portrait 3D will strengthen our communication by further clarifying the desired results, all around.”

After seeing the post-op simulation on their own body, women are much more comfortable and confident, and even more excited about proceeding with the surgery.

Portrait 3D–Breast is the world’s first simulation software based on physics-driven tissue typing, and is the fifth generation of the Portrait 3D product. Dr. Awada sees it as a major breakthrough in enhancing patient communication and achieving superior results.

As a vocal advocate for patient education, safety, and satisfaction, Dr. Awada is pleased that Portrait 3D further promotes personalized patient care, and she is excited to offer this breakthrough technology to her patients.
