For starters, store manager Sonny Randazzo will tell you, “We’ve uncloaked our kitchen, and situated it in the middle of the store — behind glass — where shoppers are free to interact with our chefs and enjoy the art of watching a great chef cook.

“And just look at this,” he says as he directs you to the olive oil bar, “no one else has this!” On tap there are three specially enhanced “secret recipe” olive oils that you can bottle and take home. 

In this hurry-up world, Randazzo lets you order from its deli by phone, internet web site, or Deli Express kiosks at the front of the store, to hasten your pick-up. Just be sure to take a minute to inhale all the freshness as you pass through. Notice the “extras,” too. If you’d like your pre-wrapped sandwich toasted in the panini press, the staff is happy to oblige. If you can’t find what you’d like on the menu, they’ll make it for you. Linger for authentic Italian gelato, made just the way you’d get it in Rome. Or reward yourself with an espresso or cappuccino upon your exit at the café.

“We’re here to make your day easier, to give you a moment to relax and smile,” Sonny Randazzo says. This is an important philosophy of the Randazzo family, instilled by father Nino when he arrived from Sicily in 1962. Mother Joann, daughter Maria and her husband, Mark, are also responsible for the market’s distinct flair, as is Sonny’s wife, Angela. They’re a family that possesses the kind of closeness that’s necessary to be a family, and still run a family business. They live by the motto “good food brings people together.”
