Katerina Bocci at New York City's Fashion Week

On Sept. 6, designer Katerina Bocci and her crew of local talent headed to the Big Apple and showed New York City what Michigan had to offer.

For the second year in a row, Bocci was invited to exhibit her designs at Couture Fashion Week at the Westin Times Square. The show is devoted to custom-made garments, and runs concurrently with the biannual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

This year, her collection included silk suits, cocktail dresses, and evening gowns. Figo Salon of Birmingham, along with lead makeup artist Gjysta Nuculaj of Mijo-a Event Make-up studio in Royal Oak, and 13 Michigan models including Miss Michigan, Elizabeth Crawford, and Miss Italia, Jordan Monaghan, were all part of the show.
