Fox Theatre: A once self-identified elf, Buddy the human has had quite the journey since he left his frigid home at the North Pole. With jokes for the adults as well as a high-end, engaging production for the kids, Elf the Musical is appropriate for all ages. America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade: The 92nd annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade is set to roll down Woodward Avenue again this November. The parade will feature floats and balloons from businesses based in metro Detroit. It will also air locally on WDIV-TV (Local 4). Nov. 22. No cost. Downtown Detroit; theparade.org

Wild Lights: More than 5 million LED lights will illuminate the Detroit Zoo’s trees, buildings, and animal sculptures. Holiday entertainment and special activities will also take place throughout the 24-day event.
