Dutch Girl Donuts: This bakery on Woodward Avenue has been attracting regulars since 1947. The Detroit mainstay is known for its light-and-fluffy selections available in classic varieties like glazed and custard-filled. Don’t worry about stopping by the shop early (or late), the location is open 24 hours.

Dilla’s Delights: Named after legendary hip-hop producer J. Dilla, Dilla’s Delights is a living legacy. Dilla’s uncle, Herman Hayes, opened the shop in 2016 to pay tribute to the late artist. Today, the brand has become a local favorite, featuring doughnuts made daily in flavors like vegan Blackbottom blueberry cake and Aaliyah lemon-filled.

Holy Moly Donut Shop: Build-your-own-doughnuts are the main attraction at this new Detroit shop. With more than 30 toppings and five glazes to choose from, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a combo you won’t love. Indecisive? Try one of their premade doughnuts, available in sweet or savory.

Donutville U.S.A.: Located in Dearborn, it’s hard not to feel nostalgic at this family-owned doughnut shop. Since 1966, Donutville has been serving hand-cut, New England style doughnuts.
