S ummer might be winding down, but good drinks and live music are always in season. Head to Slows Bar BQ in Corktown for its Dirty Gurlz Dance Happy Hour. Every last Thursday of the month — next up, August 23, September 27, and October 25 — there will be “coconuting” on the patio with Detroit-based DJ, Amy Dreamcatcher. While Dreamcatcher spins her best with '80s-inspired tunes, the Cooley’s, owners of Slows, will pour rum into fresh coconuts for guests. There will also be a selection of sangria and shareable margaritas, which serve up to six people at a time.

No cost for admission. The events start at 5 p.m., rain or shine. 2138 Michigan Ave., Detroit. L&D Daily.
