From Dec. 1 to Jan. 9, you, the voters, will nominate your local favorites for Best of Detroit honors on hourdetroit.com. We encourage you to say a few words about some of the businesses, people, and places you nominate in the comments field — your submission may be included in our Best of Detroit feature!
Then on Feb. 9, after our editorial team has had time to tally and vet your nominations, we’ll launch our voting round. During this period, you’ll have the chance to cast your vote out of the top finalists in each category. Voting will end March 9.
Nominations are limited to metro Detroit businesses — except when “Michigan” is mentioned in the title; in that case, statewide businesses/venues may be nominated. Nominations for national chains will not be accepted, except for the hotel category; for this category, a national chain is allowed if the metro Detroit location has unique features that differentiate it from other locations.
As always, our goal is to publish a credible list that reflects the votes of our loyal readers. Therefore, ballot stuffing — i.e. mass nominations and voting from identical IP addresses — is not permitted and duplicate entries will be deleted.
Also, businesses cannot incentivize nominations or votes with discounts, freebies, etc.
Finally, Hour Detroit reserves the right to disregard any nomination or vote we feel was not submitted within the spirit of the competition. Ballots will be monitored for abuses.Winners will be announced in the June 2026 issue of Hour Detroit and honored at Hour Detroit's 2026 Best of Detroit Party. on June 5, 2026.
