Get your kicks with Detroit Futbol
Who said local soccer was just for kids? If you’re looking for a little exercise or just want to witness some good-natured rivalries, check out the Detroit City Futbol League. The league brings distinct, historical neighborhoods together for competition and fun. Play for the league’s fifth season was scheduled to start the week after Memorial Day. Games are played Tuesdays at Historic Fort Wayne, followed by a happy hour at various neighborhood bars. At press time, the league anticipated fielding nearly 40 teams of more than 1,000 participants. (Pictured: Lafayette Park takes on West Side Industrial.)
