Viviano Flower Shop is a fourth-generation family business that excels in the scale of its offerings. Servicing everything from graduations and weddings to anniversaries and funerals, the metro Detroit staple’s St. Clair Shores, Shelby Township, Chesterfield Township, Grosse Pointe Woods, and Rochester locations have become go-to spots for locals seeking their own floral fantasy.

But this year’s Best Florist – Multiple Locations wasn’t always this grand. In fact, it’s come a long way since its humble beginnings in Detroit.

Viviano Flower Shop was started by Frank P. Viviano and his wife, Elizabeth, in 1937. Like many Great Depression-era business owners, Frank would go to great lengths to satisfy customers. He even delivered floral arrangements via Detroit city buses due to gas rationing. Following years of dedication and hard work, though, Viviano Flower Shop found its footing. By the mid-40s, Frank purchased a Grosse Pointe greenhouse, which was later re-erected as the storefront for the florist’s St. Clair Shores location.

Since then, all eight of Frank and Elizabeth’s children have worked at the shop, and now. Frank aimed to install entrepreneurial qualities like craftsmanship, commitment, and camaraderie in his kids, who would go on to continue to grow the business with their own kids — today, Viviano Flower Shop is fronted by CEO Paul and President Peter, Frank’s grandchildren. With more than 80 years in business, perhaps it’s this strong foundation that’s made Viviano Flower Shop a winner. For more information, visit viviano.com.
